If Qocksurfer hadn't taken umbrage with people on this board that gave him some good advice in earlier threads that he's asked for sympathy and advice, then the response to his cat thread would have been far different.
Sure, there would have been a few jokes, but for the most part, otherwise, people would have been far more sympathetic.
