Honestly, there are only a few small number of teachers that have a huge impact on kid's lives. For some kids there is that one special teacher they might connect with. For many kids, an ATHLETIC coach can be a huge influence.

Substitute teachers have a hard enough time commanding respect. This guy/girl will have that much more trouble.
It's going to be a distraction, plain and simple.
