Yup.
Myth Busters did a test try’n to get a vehicle gas tank to explode by shoot’n it without success, “Myth Busted”. Then someone e-mailed them “Duh, the liquid isn’t what’s explosive, it’s the fumes off of the liquid.” So they did the test again with a half empty tank and shooting at the top half, where the fumes would be. They did finally get an explosion this way, but it was very small and contained by the gas tank itself. “Myth Busted” again.
