I assume you meant Will's dad, not Jack's dad, n'est pas? They couldn't use Will's dad at this point, because he's still in service to Davey Jones. They have to first recover the heart from Norrington before they can free Bootstrap Bill.That's something else that confused me! Why were Jack and Will fighting over the heart? They could both have easily just worked together to get what they wanted - first let Jack use it to lift his curse, then let Will use it to kill Davey Jones and free his dad. I can see, though, why Norrington was fighting for it, since he needed it intact to deliver to the governor (which it wouldn't be, once Will was done with it).
Nope, the third movie has Jack's dad as a main character... Rocker Keith Richards, this is who should have replaced Barbossa at the end of dead mans chest...
I believe their will be a coherant plot in the next movie and back on par with the storytelling of the first one...
