There aren't enough superlatives to describe Chargers running back LaDainian Tomlinson's performance this season. One of the best players in the NFL, a top-three player in fantasy entering the season and a 27-year-old in his prime, Tomlinson is in the midst of arguably the best campaign in NFL -- and fantasy -- history. Take a look at his accomplishments:

• Most touchdowns in Chargers history: 84, a mark he achieved with his first touchdown in the Week 6 game at San Francisco. Tomlinson added three more scores on the day, passing Lance Alworth as the franchise's all-time leader.

• Became the second player in NFL history to rush for 150-plus yards and score three-plus TDs in consecutive games when he managed 183 yards and three TDs in Week 8 and 172 yards and three TDs in Week 9. (Delvin Williams also did it in 1976.)

• Most touchdowns in a five-game span: 15, Weeks 6-10. Tomlinson snapped Jim Brown's 48-year-old record of 14, and then, he outdid himself, breaking his own record with 16 in a five-game span from Weeks 8-12. By the way, another four-TD effort from Tomlinson in Week 13 would break the record yet again.

• Most touchdowns in his first nine games of the season: 18, reached in Week 10. He broke the record shared by Jim Brown (1958) and Shaun Alexander (2005).

• Quickest to record 100 career touchdowns: 89 games. Tomlinson achieved the feat with his third score of the game in Week 11, reaching the mark in four fewer games than it took either Jim Brown or Emmitt Smith (93 games each).

• Set records in Week 11 with his third four-TD effort of the season and 19 in a six-game stretch from Weeks 6-11. It was his second straight four-TD performance.

• Reached the 1,000-yard rushing plateau in Week 11 at the Broncos, marking the sixth consecutive season he has done that from the start of his career.

• Set a new career best with his fifth consecutive 100-yard rushing game, in Week 12 against the Raiders. He has topped the century mark each week from Weeks 8-12.

• Most rushing touchdowns in a single season in Chargers history: 20, which he reached in the second quarter of the Week 12 game. He'd add another in the contest. He also set a new franchise mark in the game with 138th point of the season.

What's more, with five games to go, Tomlinson stands an excellent chance at breaking the single-season record for touchdowns, 28, set by Alexander last season. He's only four short, meaning he'd need to average only one score per week to break Alexander's mark.
