I think I said earlier in this thread (it was a long time ago, so I'm not sure) that I often enjoy a movie, call it "good" and "entertaining," if it elicits an emotional response from me. That means I'll likely enjoy it as a film if it can make me cry, if it makes me happy, or even if it pisses me off.
You cannot... repeat CANNOT... make a judgment on a movie you have not seen. How can you imply that the movie would be the same without the scene in question?

See, I'm not that way. I only "like" a movie if it instills in me a POSITIVE emotional response - the laughter produced by a comedy or the sense of justice produced by an old-fashioned Good vs. Evil story.
I just don't watch movies anymore. If I have to think about it, or "examine my inner self", or walk away from the movie feeling disgusted, depressed, or both, that's the ANTITHESIS of "entertainment".
