I wouldn't consider the word nOOb an insult. It's simply a rite of passage. When you get past the moniker and contribute to the board with valid opinions, funny posts, or just general intelligence, you'll feel like a valuable nOOb. In fact, I see a lot of potential in you Ms. Joie.
