I was hoping someone else noticed this. I thought I saw empty seats early in the game too. Like maybe people were waiting around for the rain to stop before they sat down, then eventually gave up and left. As the game wore on, I could swear I saw more and more empties. That's just sad.
Yeah, I know that the SB hasn't been about fans for a long time, but I was very very happy that the rain didn't let up and kept falling for the duration of the game. I bet that pissed off some of those people something fierce. I bet the scalpers were none to happy about the rain either.
Maybe the NFL will learn its lesson from this disaster and split the Super Bowl tickets 50/50 between the home and away teams to sell to their season ticket holders since they know the real fans would never let a little rain get in the way.
