I am sure there are a lot of authentic places, but I don't go there because they are out of my price range. I lived La Maddalena, which is a little island between Sardinia and Corsica for a couple of years, so maybe the "authentic" food I am looking for is just backwoods Italian food and not really authentic. Captain John can vouch for me on this one, there is a ton of very good, very cheap Italian food that you never see over here in the states.
