DLP TV as Computer Monitor?

I'm looking into buying a 50-60 inch TV, and I want to hook it up to use as my computer monitor as well. Ya, I know everybody says to get an LCD. But LCD's are expensive, and I'm not compromising size for a better picture. I basically want the biggest TV as possible for the cheapest price without a complete crappy picture. I see people buying 50 inch LCD's for like 4G's while you can get a DLP tv even larger for 1500. The picture really isn't worth 2500 extra for me.

I know LCD's have good longevity, but I don't have enough money to buy one. I like Plasmas, but I hear that you can experience burn in and some have longevity issues of having to replace the plasma. So then I come to DLP TV's. I see nothing wrong with these things unless I'm missing something. You can get a huge picture, for relatively cheap, and the picture looks great IMO. My only question is I'm basically going to be using it all the time, it will be on a bunch of hours a day as I would be using it as a tv and computer monitor. Will the lamp go out? Are they cheap to replace? With heavy use, how long until a lamp will go out? Is there anything wrong with using a 55 inch DLP TV as a computer monitor?
