Paint Your Wagon, featuring the uber-men Lee Marvin and Clint Eastwood, was not only good cinema, but had outstanding music and was really funny.
Same with 1776.
One of the greatest films of all time is Singin' in the Rain.
Other GREAT ones are Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, Wizard of Oz, My Fair Lady, Sound of Music, The Music Man, and Rocky Horror Picture Show.
Some from more recent: I love Nightmare Before Christmas, Moulan Rouge, Little Shop of Horrors and the film adaptation of Chicago...
And I'm really looking forward to Sweeney Todd.

The King and I starring Yul Brenner (which while good, was vastly inferior to the time I got to see him perform the role live on stage).
