I guess to summarize, the singing adds nothing to the movie for me and often breaks up the flow of the movie.

Does That Thing You Do count as a musical? I liked that one.
I wouldn't have categorized Rocky Horror or Little Shop as chick flicks. What are you considering a chick flick?
