So tell me, how can I say, "When I heard that a Redskin had been shot, my first guess was that it was Sean Taylor, out of a team of 53 guys of whom 85 percent are black, and I was right" and have you conclude that it's racist? If I was racist, wouldn't I only have a 1 in 40 shot of being right?
Frankly, I think it's racist to assume that any negative statement made about a member of a minority group is racist. Such an attitude stereotypes race above individuality.
Just for the record, I always side with the homeowner, and I personally wish that Sean Taylor was feeding those criminals' body chunks to his koi right now. It doesn't change my hunch that Sean was the guy who was involved, though, and that's a very different thing.
