It will be a welcome thing for me to be able to wake up on New Years day, shake off my hangover and actually have a rooting interest in a bowl game for a change.

Spot the eff on. Rep.
As a KU fan, after the loss to MU, I thought the Holiday Bowl was within reach. Anything else was just gravy. I'm simply happy to have one more game to watch.
The BCS is nonsense and has nothing to do with pinning up the "best" teams (even in the National Championship, IMO). MU is actually in the better position; go down to Tejas, anally abuse Arkansas on national TV, show the nation you were slighted, use as a great recruiting tool.
KU has all the pressure on them to live up to their bowl bid.
