I don't really have a problem with smoking bans that responded to the "take it outside" call from non-smokers. But, when the bars did what they had to do to keep business open and created patios and outside areas for smokers, I do have a problem with the latest calls to prohibit smoking in all outside areas too, because non smokers want to come outside too.
Bars complied with a law and found a way to keep smokers, who by the way, I have found to buy more drinks, and actually tip better than non-smokers. And their reward is that the legislation is just going to get tougher to appease a loud non-smoking advocacy (many of whom don't actually go to bars.)
