I feel your pain with the USPS. I applied for a US Passport in March, mailed my application along with the original copy of my birth certificate. The Dept. of State issued the passport and the USPS lost it in the mail. Their tracking site told me I should expect it on March 29, after the 1st week of April passed I called them and was basically told to go F myself by their customer service.
So needless to say I've now got Lifelock and a tub of Vaseline in my carry on because I'm assurred a full cavity search at every international airport I try to pass through. Thanks USPS.
