I think what it really comes down to is that unlike many viewers, I understand that to actually get a show "Greenlit" and into production (not to mention, to spend millions of dollars - somebody's dollars!), the creators of the show had to provide a beginning AND an ending. There's no way that any producer(s) or network would shell out that kind of cash without it.
So with that being the case, it's just a matter of filling in the puzzle. In the end, there's always something that's revealed when putting together a jigsaw puzzle.
And many times, it's unexpected.
