Luckily this situation didnt require a lot of subjectivity. I think the only real hard rules are that you can never assume a double play. You can assume one out would happen without an error, but never two even if it looked like an obvious double play ball. (so man on 3rd, 1 out, error to shortstop, the run is still earned)
It gets really interesting where you have to subjectively decide if a man on second would have scored on a single. At that point, I just wait till the scorer makes a ruling because I have no clue what they will ever say on that.
