I don't really know how to respond to that. I could do a lot worse as far as fathers go. I've never been physically or verbally abused.
One time when I was a teenager I faked being asleep in an attempt to get out of church. My acting was so effective my father thought I was dead, cradled me in his arms and patted my face while desperately repeating my name. I know he cares about me a great deal.
I don't blame him for raising us as Jehovah's Witnesses. That's how he was raised.
