Take the dog out frequently. Every couple of hours at the very least and immediately after meals. You must establish that outside is where it does its business. Never inside. The primary reason why people have problems training their dogs is laziness.
If you're lazy, the dog is going to piss and crap in your house. If you get off your ass now, you won't have problems later. Simple. But this doesn't mean that it's easy.
Also, if you haven't invested in an exercise pen, do so. Nice to be able to put the thing away and not watch it 24/7. Get a piece of melamine to use as a floor, and you're set.
