If the Chiefs had taken Rodgers that year, though I'd have been fine with it, Vermiel probably would have melted down more than he did after the LJ pick since Trent Green was basically his boyfriend.

I'm starting to come to this thought, unless you think that LB is a 10 time pro bowler and one of the best in the game a LB like DJ may not be worth a first round pick....to make that pick worth it he has to develop into being as good as Keith Bulluck.
