Agreed. There are still plenty of ways ps3 can outpace Xbox in the coming years. However, for the average Joe out there who has played with his/her wii and thinks he/she may want to check out something else having a brand like Netflix available grabs attention.
Wii did a magnificent job of market penetration into new demographics now it is up to ps3/xbox to capitalize on that success and bring some of those folks into the higher end game market. Having names like Netflix available makes folks feel comfortable because they're already familiar with the brand, hell they probably already subscribe to it. "And what? That subscription works for my online que as well? Awesome." Then they buy the xbox and realize they have to fork out an additional $50/yr for gold.
Right now I've got a lot of "threads running through the old duder's head. Lotta things to keep straight."
I guess, ultimately, there seems to be a broad swath of untapped potential. The video game market has been opened up a bit further by Nintendo and kudos to them. Companies now have to keep that audience and nurture it along.
