I've seen a lot of Laurinitis. Like many MLBs, he's as good as the tackles in front of him, and this year, they've been inconsistent and shaky at best. Remember the game where Ray Lewis was complaining because the chiefs kept getting blockers on him? That's a pretty telling statement. If MLBs are constantly squaring up against guards, that's a problem. I think he gets a bad rep for the way he played in the national championship game. He didn't play that bad. The defensive tackles played really lousy in that game.
But while he's not a physical tackler, he has a great nose for the ball, tremendous speed, and he's a good fundamental tackler. I agree that we shouldn't take him over Maualuga, but this guy is definitely worth a top 15 pick and he would be an enormous upgrade for the Chiefs.

Wow an un-biased view on an Ohio State player, bravo my friend. Very good points. Our D-line has been very shaky this year, especially when we lost Lawerence Wilson again. JL very very rarely ever misses tackles he does lay some lumber, but he isn't an Andy Katzemoyer hitter either. See every one keeps saying he disappeared in the NC, when he set the record for tackles in a game with 18 and 5 were TFL.
