He knows what words he can not use and that kind of thing but there are details he is not aware of even though that is his field. I'm sorry I don't think the fact that games can end in a win lose or tie is an obscure rule like "what frequency range can you use in amplitude modulation if you are at high altitude?"
They announce this rule at the beginning of every overtime, sever of which McNabb was standing right there. In the NFL standings there is a column for "W"'s "L's" and "T's" which presumably he might have a passing interest in
The whole time he is playing in OT, there is a clock running at 15:00. What did he think was going to happen at the end of the 15 minutes? Why not ask? Even if it were like college OT, there would be some important strategy factors to consider near the end.
