Advantix is great if you lived in a tick prone area. Use it with caution as it's HIGHLY poisonous to cats. Advantage is safer to use if you do have cats and no ticks. Frontline is a good option as well. The packaging and most vets will tell you that you can safely increase the dosage and treat every two to three weeks instead of four until your problem is solved. Check with your vet though.
