I only sit about 12' from the set but finally a year ago I moved the 42" TV to the bedroom and replaced it with a 50" Panasonic plasma HD. That was the best thing I ever did, the 50" is just right in that room and the 42" is perfect in the bedroom. Also, consider the added expense if you have to upgrade to digital cable or satellite plus an HD box, to me the price of the TV is nothing compared to what I have to pay Directv. It almost doesn't seem worthwhile to buy a 32" unless it's going in an office or small bedroom.

I'm thinking about buying a Panasonic 50" Plasma 1080. Have you had good luck with yours? I just bought my folks a 42" Panasonic Plasma for just under $1000. They love it.
