I think that the loss of Pioli is the most significant staff loss the Pats have suffered yet. The guy was great and handled the cap better than probably anyone else in the business and that is a huge part of every team in the modern era. He was also a big cog in terms of personnel acquistion and put the scouting department together.
I feel badly to lose him, but the KC gig is an excellent one for somebody that knows what they are doing and I'll be shocked if they don't start climbing up the rungs of the ladder very soon.
Piloli's are some big shoes to fill, but as long as BB is in charge of the football stuff I see no reason to worry about the sky falling. We have a system in place that doesn't go south because of the loss of any one guy. Or four. Or more. Unless we are talking about Belichick himself in which case I recommend everybody immediately shit themselves-- I know I will.
