With LJ in 2007, the Chiefs probably win 7 or 8 games, the Chiefs hold off blowing up the team one more year, they don't high draft picks, they don't go 2-14 last year and get another chance at high draft picks. Then, CP would have brought in some overpriced free agents to 'make a playoff push"
They probably go around 6-10 or 8-8 in 2008 because they would have signed free agents. Kuharich, who is very qualified and respected, would probably have then become our GM and Herm would have definitely been back. Herm may still be back, but he will have to make a few changes and he will have one year to get it turned around.
Now, as to your specific point: I think Pioli was going to come here as long as it was offered. Hunt's closes friend in the league is Kraft's son. There is a reason that the Pats are sending out glowing praise about Pioli even after his departure.
After Mangini left, there was no showering of praise. Same with Romeo and even the coach of Notre Dame that I cannot think of his name right his second and I don't want to bother to look it up.
Now, I think that the Pats would be in the playoffs and the Chiefs would not have been able to hiring him as quickly, perhaps.
BTW: The Pats really liked Pollard coming out of the draft. Pollard probably isn'g going anywhere.
He is a good situational and special teams player if nothing else. And, what we know about the Pats is that the players don't have to be the best, they have to be the best 'fit'. Everyone has to have a role, and play their role well. That doesn't mean he has to be a Pro Bowl, every down saftey.
JMHO.

If you like that, then you must love the domino effect of that dropped onside kick by Dewayne Bowe against the Chargers.
