Yes. And this is a completely different "good ole boy" network. Most of these guys fell from the Parcells tree, and I've never heard anyone complain about that.
I don't understand why any coach with experience is now being considered a "retread." Where is that coming from? Fresh and new ideas are great for head coaches and coordinators, but they're not overly important for positions coaches. At the end of the day, all that matters is: "can he coach players?"
Pendergast and Gibbs and Muir were obviously respected enough as positions coaches to earn coordinator positions. I don't know why people are judging how good a positions coach will be based on how well he coordinated a defense. And besides, given how late we are in the hire game, who's to say that any of these guys are a long-term solution? Maybe some of these guys are just stopgaps until next year when we can bring in the best. But I see no reason why these guys couldn't be effective positions coaches.
