The worst part is, that people are so hung up on guys we are hiring to be positions coaches because of the work that they did as coordinators. Pendergast and Gibbs were so-so coordinators. But they were excellent positions coaches and they were groomed by Parcells himself. They may not know how to call plays, but I guaran****ingtee you that this defense is going to be taught to be tough as nails.

I'm with you bro; this looks like total shit. But you know what? I firmly believe these hires are a MAJOR case of "getting to the party too late".
We HAVE to staff, there's just no getting around it. That said, I'd be VERY surprised if ANY of these guys have more than a 1-year contract.
We know we're not going to the playoffs, but it's a drag to think that our players won't be getting the best the coaching-poole has to offer. I guarantee you that barring an improvement miracle; most of these guys will be replaced for the 2010 season.
My first thought out the door today( ****in' football junkie )was that because of Herm's suckage and the hiring of a whole new house, my original time-table for a playoff run in 2010 was going to have to be bumped-up a year to 2011.
Them's the breaks I guess!
