I'd imagine that you'll see the following:
Repost, yes? Or are you just that fast?
Gibbs will be the linebackers coach. Given that LBs were his history, you'd expect that he would have presided over some that were at least decent, but there really aren't any standouts from his stint in either Dallas or New Orleans. With that being said, he's worked in both the 3-4 and 4-3, but seems more of a 4-3 guy.
Okay, so 50/50 on Gibbs.
He can't be any worse than Gunther, but that doesn't mean that he's good.
Collier got shitcanned by the Patriots following a year in which they had an undefeated regular season. He didn't get hired anywhere last year, and it's not like he was making a killing as a secondary coach. His unit was by far the weakest link of the entire team (the secondary). Granted, he never had great talent to work with, but he did have Asante Samuel and Rodney Harrison and a great front 7 to take the pressure of off him, but those Pats secondaries were mediocre at best.
This one kicks my ass. Our secondary, as it stands, are the future leaders of this defense. Now I realize that a different system could be just the ticket for all three guys; the talent is that deep. That said, it sure seems like a poor position coach-wise to "cheap out" on.
On the other hand, after watching reruns of 'Hard Knocks', I'm not so sure our "Original Gibbs" was such the hot shit either; he made some questionable talent assessments to say the least.
I didn't know much about Steve Hoffman, but Chiefs Country says he's a good coach, and he's as reputable of a source as there is here. Dan Carpenter had a great rookie year under him. I don't really know how good their coverage units were, but coming from Prieffer, anything is an improvement.

Muir seems like a Dick Curl hire to me. Look at the string of terrible offenses that guy has been associated with. He looks like a shit hire. Some of the teams he has worked for have been all-time bad. TB couldn't run or pass block worth a damn under him. Bicknell is the OL coach. I just hope they don't peg this asshat to be the QB coach.

I outlined my problems with Pendergast earlier. Suffice it to say, the guy has one of the 10 most talented rosters in the league on the defensive side of the ball and during the last four years has presided over Ds that have
never finished higher than 26th in points allowed. That's an abomination.
Yep; he just slid and slid down the rankings, thus his firing.
Perles may be either the TE or RB coach, because it seems like Ward will do the WR's, based on his past history.

I can't for the life of me understand why we kept the strength and conditioning staff. It could have just been Herm's practices, but there was a point last year where we would have 6-8 guys a week hobbled with soft tissue strains. That is something that stems directly from poor conditioning. That's unacceptable at the high school level, let alone the pros.
