The offense sucks without Gordon and Butler hitting well, so you have to operate under the assumption that they will (or it's all moot).

So here's how I'd do it.

Crisp -1 (lack of a better option, he's a 9 hitter in an AL lineup)

DeJesus -2 (one of the most prototypical 2 hitters in the game)

Gordon -3 (you need this guy, he has power, speed and a batting eye. He's the only in-house true 3-hole candidate you have)

Guillen - 4 (Ideally a 5 hitter, but the best option you have)

Jacobs - 5 (can't have a guy with a .300 OBP hitting 4th)

Butler - 6 (clogging the bases in the 6/7 holes isn't the end of the world, especially when both guys have HR power)

Olivo - 7, he's a plus hitter...for a catcher. He's not an elite hitter by any stretch. Any higher than 7 is asking for trouble, lower than 8 botches the turn for the heart of the order.

Callaspo - 8 (teahen isn't gonna work, guys)

Aviles - 9 Re-sets the lineup well, has a little sock to drive in the slow guys.

I cannot emphasize enough how much you guys needed Orlando Hudson. Everything slots into place well with him in the lineup. Take the money you've bombed on Farnsworth and Teahen, offer the man a legit 3 year contract in the $6 million/year range (with incentives up to 8) and I'll bet you he takes it. Horrid market miscalculation by Moore.

If Gordon and Butler come near .300 with an OPS near .850 and 25 HRs a piece, it's an 88 win lineup with a good pitching staff. Otherwise I see y'all fighting for .500 again.

Not a well constructed team, IMO.
