The Jacksonville Jaguars may want Brad Meester to be their starting center, or they may ask him to help pave the way for a youngster and turn things over while becoming a quality backup.
Either way, they expect he will continue to be a good locker room guy, something that's more of a premium in Gene Smith's first year as general manager.
According to John Clayton, the unrestricted free agent has agreed to a four-year, $10 million deal to stay in Jacksonville.
That's two deals for centers in the AFC South in two days -- Jeff Saturday re-signed with Indianapolis on Friday. The details of his three-year deal are being kept tightly under wraps, but it's a good bit more than Meester got.
