Me, I haven't given up on seeing the "Light People" (they have a title, but I can't think of it. Where's Adept Havelock when you need him?) just yet. I still think back to the scene at the end of season 3 where Galactica launched it's battle wings and was facing off against the Cylon fleet. The camera starts to pan back and away from that, and there are three or four "Orbs" close to the battle site that are too close to be stars. I dunno - might end up being nothing, but as has been said, while Ron Moore has certainly taken the new Galactica in its own direction, he has been consistant in running somewhat parallel to the old story.

Oh, and actually chuckled at "Feldercarb", speaking of the old series.
I think SCChief's theory was spot-on.

The "Light People" or "Beings of Light" was the only names they were referred to (by "canon" sources). The execrable Richard Hatch novels suggested they were the original Kobollians, which evolved and were eventually worshiped as "Angels" by the founders of the 12 colonies.

At this point, I agree they likely aren't going to come into play, though there was a tantalizing hint in this last episode about "we're all being manipulated by something else". It could be that the "Head Six/Head Baltar" are tied to the Final Five's conversation a couple of episodes ago about the "warnings" which appeared differently to them back on ancient Earth before that holocaust. Specifically, one saw a woman, one saw a man, etc.

Could it be that the "Ship Of Lights"/Orbs from the end of Ep. 3 and the "Head" entities are some type of Cylon or Anti-Cylon technology left from a much earlier cycle?

I'm also wondering if there is a tie of sorts between "Daniel" the 7th model, and "Daniel Graystone", builder of the Colonial Cylons in the upcoming prequel "Caprica".
