Sure if you make the top 3 picks worthless it's easier to trade them. We could of traded this year if we were just gonna give them away. In that new value chart the 1st pick is worth less than twice what the 20th pick is. In the old chart it was worth almost 4x as much. 
It would be better to just get a rookie scale next year and bring the value of those top picks back up. |
the new chart seems to match what happened though. like the Sanchez trade:
Jets got #5 = 880 points
Browns got
#17 = 600
#52 = 178
3 players
the 3 players combined would have to be worth 102 points to make it equal according to the chart. that seems possible. that's like 3 5th round picks.
