When our flight arrived and we taxied up to the terminal we could all see a line of Military (Green) vans, several police cars and a white hearse all lined up on the tarmac next to where we were pulling in. It was at that moment that you could hear kind of a hush fall over the plane. United allowed the solgier to depart first and we never saw him again...as we all waited for our luggage inside a lady from United went around and quietly told us all that the luggage would be delayed as they had special cargo aboard the plane that had to be unloaded first. As a Viet Nam veteran I cannot express how touching everyone's quietness and 'non complaining' was as we all new what the 'special cargo' was.
It was quite awakening on the Memorial Day weekend to have traveled home with a hero. I am not sure why he would be coming to KC via Denver and watched the news to see if I could find out more, but have yet to see anything. I just want to end this with a Thank you to all veterans who have served in ANY capacity and a special Thank You and prayer to all of the familes of those who 'gave all'. God Bless America and the Brave that keep uo safe.

Gulp. I'm glad that no one complained. Thank you for your service, and all those who have served and are serving now.
