It is pretty messed up that the other dad did that. He had to have known that your son wanted to hit also. Why would somebody do that? I agree that you should always send some cash with your kids like others have said, but still. Are these people fairly poor or something? That is the only thing I can think of is that he only had enough to spend for his kid and depended on you providing cash. Even then, most people would still split what they had up in that situation. Sorry to hear it. I wouldn't really go out of my way to show that I "am a better man" either. It also won't do anyone any good to mention it in my opinion. Just take note of it for future consideration.
