Bornstein looked out of place again at LB, which is disappointing. He whiffed on a clearance that led to the El Salvador goal. Spector looked just okay defensively but had a great cross to Dempsey (who missed). At least that part of his game seems consistent. The center backs actually looked pretty good in my eyes, Marshall did an admirable job filling in for Gooch and Boca was steady if not spectacular.
I think, for now at least, we've found Bornstein isn't the answer. As Spector is currently playing on the left for West Ham I think we could see him shift over with Cherundolo taking back the right spot. Also, Castillo apparently has just been approved by FIFA to play for the US so we can figure he may factor in, in the future.
Side Note: The US got ABSOLUTELY screwed by the ref for that 3rd goal. I'm not sure what happened there but Dempsey didn't foul and Jozy was at least 2 steps onside. I certainly didn't see any reason for the whistle other than the US getting boned again.
And isn't watching the two young strikers in Jozy and Davies just awesome? They're not all the way there yet, but damn it's exciting watching them with the ball. Davies is an absolute burner.
