It's OK. It's nowhere near as bad as the review a few posts up suggests, but it's not great either. The rape scene did seem a bit out of place, but the one thing I'll say first and foremost - that scene is nowhere NEAR 30 seconds, nor is it as explicit as was reported. Without going back and timing it, I'd say it's 20-30 seconds of the rape, extreme closeups of Fanning's face/eyes and hand. I was expecting worse, so while the subject matter is disturbing, it certainly wasn't over the top, if you ask me. Where the film goes post-rape, it's a necessary scene.

Secondly, this movie is not about the rape, AT ALL. It's one scene. This thread in hindsight is the ultimate in mountains out of molehills.

Overall, I'd probably tell people to pass.
