Either way, I’d have traded LJ for whatever we could get before we re-signed him, and used the money to pay JA.

Or done whatever we could have done to improve the defense in 2003. We were so close to being a championship team, and IMO could have gotten there if we didn’t nickel and dime the FA market with guys like McCleon, Holliday, Bell, etc.

I also would have drafted more OLinemen when we still had a great line. Those guys would just be getting into their prime now when we need them the most.
