I believe that they have always known the ending as well. The question has always been how will they get there? Darlton has admitted to spinning wheels from time to time because they didn't have an end date. I think the journey
could have gotten a little out of control without a definate end in sight. I was sort of just repeating Damon's sentiments from the interview.
