We stayed at a Hyatt one time and it seemed that the entire floor (other than OUR room) was staying there for a wedding/reception that was going on at the Hotel. Our experience was similar to yours with the loud/drunk/obnoxious people in and out and up and down the hallways all night long. At about 2am we called down and pretty much demanded that we be moved to a different part of the hotel and they allowed it. We also ended up getting a 50% discount when we checked out. What's funny about it is that up to that point in our lives this particular Hyatt was by far the nicest/fanciest hotel we had ever visited but it was also our worst experience.

The only other "hellish" experience was at this 2 star hotel in KC. My entire family was asleep and sometime in the middle of the night I hear a lot of commotion out in the hallway. I look through the peephole and see people but couldn't see very well so I quietly opened the door for a better look....there was a cop with his gun drawn leaning up against our door and when I opened it he almost fell backwards into our room! About that time I hear " SIR, please go BACK into your room for your own safety!!" No problem. Didn't get much sleep THAT night....wife and kids slept through it all.
