He's going to come into a kid's living room, talking about the league, all of his connections, players he's coached, playoff victories, and tell that kid that he understands what it takes for him to get there and succeed. It could be a pretty powerful presentation.
Also, Herm is a good guy, and parents will respond well to him.
Herm would be an outstanding recruiter. There's little question about that, IMO.
As long as he hired high-quality coordinators and allowed them to do their jobs, especially the OC, who would need to employ an aggressive philosophy with the type of talent he'd have at his disposal, Herm would be an outstanding hire for USC.
