This should be great bulletin board material before the 4th of July Hotdog eating contest.
It's not just football where this happens. I've seen many times in the corporate world where a middle management guy takes a big promotion to another company, and both companies immediately scramble, 1 trying to steal the people recommended by the new guy and the former to protect and retain their people.
When I'm in a position of need for expert advise, I don't look for the latest batch of college kids with the great GPA, I call people that I know are good at what they do, because I've worked with them in the past and trust their decisions and opinions.
If Jason Whitlock started a newspaper or sporting news website, I'll wager he'd call on writers and publishers he is familiar with to write columns for his front page too.
