[QUOTE=philfree;6444394]Some of this is contrary to what Gretz wrote in his article.

FORMER PATRIOTS CB TY LAW ON CRENNEL: “In the meetings, Romeo calls the defenses and runs the entire defense. Bill Belichick puts in the flavor and makes suggestions, but the defense is Romeo’s.”

FORMER GIANTS LB CARL BANKS ON CRENNEL: “A lot of what Bill Belichick is now is as a result o f having very smart coaches and players around him. As far as coaching, Romeo is just as much of a defensive genius as Bill.”

I cant wait to see the spin on this.

It's really not that complicated. Haters hate, that's what they do.

When you are starting from scratch you need as many known entities and non variables as possible. We are starting form scratch. Crennel and Weis are known commodities. We will have enough unknowns with all the new players we are going to have and already have.

If this were a veteran team with a good core group I could see looking for some new angle and something different to try but we don't have that.

When a company is going broke and in bankruptcy protection they don't promote the best middle manager in the company to do the restructuring and turn around. Typically they find a CEO who has a history of fixing problems and making corrections and bring them in to right the ship.

Nothing different here.
