As far as Matt Cassel is concerned, I'm hoping it's a similar situation to Trent Green's first year in KC. I wasn't around here at this time, but I do remember on other boards they were calling for his head after one season and I'd say for the most part, that worked out pretty well in the end. And if I'm wrong in comparing the two, I don't want just a lone facepalm smiley...I want a legitimate reason why you couldn't compare the two.
Maybe I missed a list of names, but exactly WHO ELSE out there would have been a better hire at this point in time at the offensive coordinator and defensive coordinator positions? Personally, I can't find a whole lot of names that are better to bring in now than Weis and Crennel. As far as using the "good ol' boy network" and being "lazy", I really could give two shits. If Pioli's own mother could help coordinate a better defense, then bring her in too. I want to see the Chiefs getting back to winning football games and that's my bottom line. If you need to hire Pioli's mother or his second cousin twice removed who's serving a life sentence in a prison somewhere in western Montana for killing nine people and needs to phone in offensive plays from his cell, I don't care.....I want to the Chiefs to start winning again and the hiring of Weis and Crennel looks like at this time the best way to moving in that direction.
