I wouldn't mind the Chiefs taking a chance on him - depending on where he's available. Don't overpay, of course, for a developmental prospect.
I don't see anything wrong with going into 2010 with Cassel as your #1 and Tebow as your #2 or #3. If Weiss thinks he can work with the guy then give him a year and see if he can transition to an NFL style offense.
The guy obviously can't just walk into the NFL and start in week 1, but he has a lot of character and work ethic, and good physical tools at least in many respects. Let him get in a full year with an NFL team and some intensive work with a QB coach.
Maybe not the right move for the Chiefs, but as much as I hope Cassel succeeds it's not a sure thing. We need to find at least one developmental prospect at QB this year who we can try next if Cassel doesn't work out. Great QBs don't get loose on the free agent market, you have to find or make your own.
