Two points:
1) I'd almost guarantee that given that this was an off campus party, there were just as many non-Greeks behind it as Greeks. Universities and media joints love to get bent out of shape targeting Greeks as the root of all evil...if there's any way a problem can be linked to or blamed on Greeks, they'll do it.
2) This party is targeting a specific group of black people that are stereotyped as acting in a thuggish manner - that is, the people of Compton. However, I have seen numerous parties targeting a specific group of Italians that are stereotyped as acting in a guido-ish manner (aka Jersey Shore parties) at my college. I don't see a single news report on those or anybody being asked to apologize to Italians everywhere.
No one is claiming that whoever threw the party is being insensitive to Italians, and while I do understand that this party occurred during Black History month, I guarantee you that if/when Jersey Shore parties are being thrown in October (National Italian American Heritage Month), we won't see a single news reports about that.
