Look for creek mouth that feeds the river, eddies around bends, if thereís a log jam fish on the down stream side of that, anywhere that the water is swirling or moving slow. Thatís where the fish will be stacked up when the river is up and rolling.
i always fish below the 'v' in swift moving waters. Light sinker and worm, just let it work its way down.
