I've embraced the late William F. Buckley's position...the cost-benefit rationale of prohibition is no longer reasonable and rationale, therefore legalize and regulate the shit out of it. Oh yeah, and tax the crap out of it too. Like it or not, it probably deserves a place alongside alcohol and tobacco as taboo, but legal, substance that people choose to use...and could really end up fugging up their own lives--if that's what they choose, then that's their problem. .

but the govt HAS studied it. hell all the way back to nixon. he commisioned a study, just like most presidents, on what different drugs effects are on people. the study came back that marijuana shouldnt be illegal. didnt matter
